Blog Hop

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways
Starting on Dec 10th, you will be able to visit quilt blogs by clicking the Blog Hop
Party link.  For my give away, I have three handmade Tussie Mussie holders, perfect for Christmas.

Please check out my blog and answer one question for me, leave a comment and please be kind.  I have had this blog for awhile, all I want to do is quilt, in one way or another.  I just don't have alot of time to do so, if you had one thing to add or say, what should I focus on.
I want to improve my site so quilters will enjoy coming here and spending time.  Hope you will follow my blog.  Thank You and look forward to reading all your comments.  Hope you will follow me.
I will draw three names on Dec 17th.  My grandson (Briston) use to draw names for me, but they no longer live here, they moved to NC. :(  So, I'm going to let my husband draw for me, I'm sure he will be happy about that. :)  Check back to see if your name has been drawn and if so, please email me at grandmawillcox@zoominternet.net with your snail mail address.

Happy quilting,
RoseMary

Consignment Shop

Check out www.secondtimearoundconsignment.blogspot.com
This is what my husband and I have been up for almost a year now, June 3 will be a year that we have been open.  Hope you will follow us there also.
This is why I don't blog or work quilts much for the past year.  Just not enough time.
I do hope to finish the sunflower soon, maybe.

Wool Sunflower

Here is the sunflower needle keeper that I used the dyed yellow wool on.  I still need to make the leaves for it, I'm not really following the pattern.  This is only the top outside of the needle keeper, still have to make the inside pockets for thread and wool to hold the needles.

I Love Sunflowers, they are not only for wool or quilting.  I plan on planting some under the front window.
And I love buttons also, this is a great project for both of them.

I will post pictures of the other steps as I finish them.

Small things like this is what I try to work on at the shop, not much time to work on my fun things, I try to work them in.   http://www.second2timearoundconsignment.com/

Think I will make some for the shop also.

Happy sunflowers,
RoseMary

Dying Wool

Here is what I am using for the wool.

Here is the wool before dying it.

Here is what the wool looked like after dying, I wan to be able to be outside when I take my pictures, they look more natural.  The one of the left is 2 teaspoons of Sunflower Yellow and 1/4 of Poppy Red, the one on the right is just 2 teaspoons of Sunflower Yellow.  After they dry, I will heat set them.

I will show what I am working on when it's done.

See you later.

A Little Sewing

Here is a little sewing machine I picked up a few weeks ago.  But it does work, I don't know how much sewing I would get done, you hand crank with one hand, while holding the fabric with the other.  Not, really!  Just add one more sewing machine to my collection.  I love looking for these types of items.

Brody's ABC's

I have finished Brody's ABC's for him.  Brody is our first great grandchild, he will be a year old in July.  Every word in the world is on my table.

Here is the box top for Brody's ABC's, I'm still working on the box, one step at a time.  They will be done hopefully before July.  I will put up some more pictures as the box comes together.  So check back soon.  I feel alive when I get to put needle and thread to fabric.  Anyone who sews or quilts know exactly what I am saying.
See you all again soon,  RoseMary

JAM- Announcements & Adventures

Been anywhere we haven't - http://www.dunbarhouse.com/   This is where Rich and I spent our honeymoon almost 16 years ago.  We have been back another time, so please check out the site, wish I could spend every summer there.  We stayed in the Cedar Room.  This is my favorite hide away place.  Hope you will enjoy the website.

My Tea Pot - JAM

This is my China Tea Set, that my husband got for my birthday last year (Feb 4).  It has Roses on it, and it serves 6.  My favorite china tea cup would be anything with a Rose on it.  It is winter here, so there is no drinking outside, but I do hope to have Tea this spring.  I wish the link to JAM was up longer, so I wouldn't miss the topic.

This is how far behind I am.

This is how far behind I am, today is the 6th, I usually put the calendar page up in the first of the month.  Each month will be a type of Rooster or Hen.  I wish I had a place to have chickens, but I don't, so the next best thing, I have them in my kitchen.  What is your favorite farm animal?

Step Away From Your Sewing Machine

My Brother "Laura Ashley " NX-2000

I have 4 projects going on in this picture.  Can you tell what they are?  Under the book is a quilted Landscape, for my guild challenge, top left of the book-are ABC's, quilted for my Great Grandson. Little Covered Note Books, and on the sewing machine is covered laundry cord in Red, making coils for placemat.  And, these are only the projects you can see in the picture.  Jody Pearl has invited us to join "Just A Moment" JaM.  Which can be found with her link on my blog.  This week is "Step Away From You Sewing Machine" and take a picture and tell about our projects.  I counted all my machines for this, I have 3 Brothers-my NX-2000, CS-6000B,  XL-3022.  My Janome Harmony9102D overlock.  3 Treadles - Singer, this one  is from the 1800's and it works, one singer that does not work, one Golden Star that still works.  And many parts from others that are tables.  I have my Grandma's Singer that is from 1924, elec, and it still works and it means the most.  Not sure what else to tell you about my projects, sometimes my projects are my only sane moments.

Check back to follow my projects or to see what happens next.

This is my studio DOG.

This is my studio dog, D.O.G., that's his name.  He is about 76 lbs.  And loves to be in the studio with me when I am there.  D.O.G. loves the snow, and being outdoors, does not chase cats he grew up with cats.  But, does not like people with hats on, and likes women more then men.  Yes, he is spoiled, he has his treats in the evening.  And thinks he is a lap dog.  I am sharing him because I see alot of studio pets and love to see all of them.
I am still working on my ABC's for Brody, our great grandson.  They will be pictured here soon.
Keep Stitching,
RoseMary

January 2012

Here we are again!  Another beginning!  What will we do this year?  Lose weight?  Exercise?  Save money?  How about doing something different, if you have wanted to create your own designs or patterns, then go for it.  Or make that special quilt for someone. Learn how to dye fabric. What rocks your boat?  What makes your heart sing?  What keeps you up late and gets you up early?  I am hoping for a more productive year of blogging, quilting, needlework's and growing friendships.
Happy Stitching!
RoseMary
