Moving has taken time, but I could not get into my blog to post anything, and that has not been any fun. I'm back online in the blog world, so when I have a little more time I will bring you some new, news. I have missed being here with you.
Take Care
We never know when we will find something or something will find us.

Yesterday, I kept hearing a bird that I thought was on the back porch, so I never went to go and look to see where or what bird it may have been.

This is what I found as I was going out the front door to go to the shop.

This hangs on the left going out our front door, this spring I will need to redo with new dry flowers.

Here is the little bird, I found as I was leaving. It made sure I knew it was there, I did not check for eggs, what to make sure it stays and takes care of them if there are any.
Each year I get a Mourning Dove or some little bird that likes to make nest somewhere on my front porch, in whatever planter or basket may be there. There is always a gift for me.

I am still working on Becca's T-shirt and should be putting the rows together today. A friend brought me her sewing machine yesterday to work on, to see if I can fix it. So she can get back to sewing. All, this while working at the shop, here is a Link to our shop blog.
I started this blog to meet new friends from other places and for my love of Quilting, started off strong and then, my husband brought a consignment shop in June 2011, and have not been keeping up with my first love-QUILTING. I wear way too many hats, but am the happiest when I am quilting or sewing.

I am working on a t-shirt for my niece Becca, as you can see in the past blog. I am posting the steps, the hard part for me is finding the time to blog. I hope you will join my blog family and friends. I have a give away, I'm not done sewing it together. I have the top done and here it is. It will be a Ladybug Pincushion, when done. This post won't let me put the picture where I want it to be

Please leave me a post on your favorite thing you like to collect. I collect buttons and all types of old sewing items. Please leave your email so I can contact you, when my husband draws the winning name. Which will be Feb 1st.

I said yes, just send me the shirts, not due till April for his birthday, thank the good Lord, LOL. So, this is what I have been doing today, so I am going to show you the steps I take in making a T-Shirt Quilt. This first part I forgot to take pictures, so I will just type it out.
I take the t-shirts and cut up the sides to under the sleeves and then lay flat and then cut the top of the sleeves to the neck and will have two parts, front and back. Then, I add interfacing to the back so it won't stretch, when working with it and looks better when done quilting it.

You can use white or black, which ever is cheaper at the store. Apply this to the back of all the parts you want to use, fronts and or backs of the t-shirts. Count how many you have and then draw up your plans for the layout.

I only had 18 pieces, so I have to figure out how to make two more, I have two extra pieces of solid black t-shirt backs that had no pictures or words on them. So those two pieces, I will add a picture of my niece and Gavin and her boyfriend and on the other one with be their names. Here, is the next step, I start hanging them and take pictures to see if it looks good and move pieces as I go.

Please check out my blog and answer one question for me, leave a comment and please be kind. I have had this blog for awhile, all I want to do is quilt, in one way or another. I just don't have alot of time to do so, if you had one thing to add or say, what should I focus on.
I want to improve my site so quilters will enjoy coming here and spending time. Hope you will follow my blog. Thank You and look forward to reading all your comments. Hope you will follow me.
I will draw three names on Dec 17th. My grandson (Briston) use to draw names for me, but they no longer live here, they moved to NC. :( So, I'm going to let my husband draw for me, I'm sure he will be happy about that. :) Check back to see if your name has been drawn and if so, please email me at grandmawillcox@zoominternet.net with your snail mail address.

Happy quilting,
This is why I don't blog or work quilts much for the past year. Just not enough time.
I do hope to finish the sunflower soon, maybe.
Here is the sunflower needle keeper that I used the dyed yellow wool on. I still need to make the leaves for it, I'm not really following the pattern. This is only the top outside of the needle keeper, still have to make the inside pockets for thread and wool to hold the needles.

I Love Sunflowers, they are not only for wool or quilting. I plan on planting some under the front window.
And I love buttons also, this is a great project for both of them.

I will post pictures of the other steps as I finish them.

Small things like this is what I try to work on at the shop, not much time to work on my fun things, I try to work them in. http://www.second2timearoundconsignment.com/

Think I will make some for the shop also.

Happy sunflowers,
But it does work, I don't know how much sewing I would get done, you hand crank with one hand, while holding the fabric with the other. Not, really! Just add one more sewing machine to my collection. I love looking for these types of items.

They will be done hopefully before July. I will put up some more pictures as the box comes together. So check back soon. I feel alive when I get to put needle and thread to fabric. This is my China Tea Set, that my husband got for my birthday last year (Feb 4). It has Roses on it, and it serves 6. My favorite china tea cup would be anything with a Rose on it. It is winter here, so there is no drinking outside, but I do hope to have Tea this spring. I wish the link to JAM was up longer, so I wouldn't miss the topic.
RoseMary http://www.blogger.com/profile/17233594376404018018noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882877221225718320.post-12379864898898036332012-02-06T16:20:00.000-08:002012-02-06T16:20:56.982-08:00This is how far behind I am.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">This is how far behind I am, today is the 6th, I usually put the calendar page up in the first of the month. Each month will be a type of Rooster or Hen. I wish I had a place to have chickens, but I don't, so the next best thing, I have them in my kitchen. What is your favorite farm animal?
RoseMary http://www.blogger.com/profile/17233594376404018018noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882877221225718320.post-81181249783714566512012-01-15T19:14:00.000-08:002012-01-15T19:14:21.384-08:00Step Away From Your Sewing Machine

Can you tell what they are? Under the book is a quilted Landscape, for my guild challenge, top left of the book-are ABC's, quilted for my Great Grandson. Little Covered Note Books, and on the sewing machine is covered laundry cord in Red, making coils for placemat. And, these are only the projects you can see in the picture. Jody Pearl has invited us to join "Just A Moment" JaM. Which can be found with her link on my blog. This week is "Step Away From You Sewing Machine" and take a picture and tell about our projects. I counted all my machines for this, I have 3 Brothers-my NX-2000, CS-6000B, XL-3022. My Janome Harmony9102D overlock. 3 Treadles - Singer, this one is from the 1800's and it works, one singer that does not work, one Golden Star that still works. And many parts from others that are tables. I have my Grandma's Singer that is from 1924, elec, and it still works and it means the most. Not sure what else to tell you about my projects, sometimes my projects are my only sane moments.

This is my studio dog, D.O.G., that's his name. He is about 76 lbs. And loves to be in the studio with me when I am there. D.O.G. loves the snow, and being outdoors, does not chase cats he grew up with cats. But, does not like people with hats on, and likes women more then men. Yes, he is spoiled, he has his treats in the evening. And thinks he is a lap dog. I am sharing him because I see alot of studio pets and love to see all of them.
I am still working on my ABC's for Brody, our great grandson. They will be pictured here soon.
Keep Stitching,

Here we are again! Another beginning! What will we do this year? Lose weight? Exercise? Save money? How about doing something different, if you have wanted to create your own designs or patterns, then go for it. Or make that special quilt for someone. Learn how to dye fabric. What rocks your boat? What makes your heart sing? What keeps you up late and gets you up early? I am hoping for a more productive year of blogging, quilting, needlework's and growing friendships.

Happy Stitching!

Next time I will use ones that are more colorful and fun. Please choose your 4" letters careful, curves are harder to sew around than straight lines. Will show the final letters when done.
RoseMary http://www.blogger.com/profile/17233594376404018018noreply@blogger.com2
